My Statement of Faith

As I continue to write and offer words of encouragement, I believe it's important to allow my readers to know who I am.  I want to do things with a spirit of excellence, in decency and order.  I feel if you know where I stand, then you know where you stand.   I am a God-fearing, Bible believing member of the Body of Christ.  This is my statement of Faith--These are my essential beliefs.

I Believe:
in one God existing in three Persons, the Holy Trinity-- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, equal in essence but different in office.
Genesis 1:1-3; John 1:1; John 14:15-17; 1John 5:7

I Believe:
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God.  Written centuries ago, it is completely reliable today as the final authority in all matters of doctrine and practice.  It is inspired by the Holy Spirit and as such I treasure its truths and respect its reproofs.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 68:11; 2 Peter 1:20-21

I Believe:
Salvation is a gift from God to those who come to Him through grace by faith.  I believe the good news that Christ died for my sins and rose from the dead.  Because of this I have been forgiven of all sin, declared righteous by God, reborn into new life, and guaranteed eternal life with God.
John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10

I Believe:
Jesus will return.  Jesus Christ will one day return in power to bring completion of salvation and rewards to believers and judgment and wrath to unbelievers.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; Revelations 19:11-16

I Believe:
I am called to be a faithful member in a visible, local church for the purpose of mutual encouragement and spiritual growth. A church that is God-glorifying  in worship, offers Scripture-centered teaching, intimate fellowship, and expressions of the church’s faith, hope, and love through evangelism, disciple-making, financial support, and service within the walls as well as in the community.
Acts 2:41-47: Hebrews 10: 24-25

God loves you....and so do I....and there's nothing you can do about it.
